That's a political BRANCH, not party, and the answer is the Senate. Every state has two senators.
It isn't a political party, but the Senate that every state has two senators.
The majority party is the party to which the most representatives or senators belong. The other party is the minority party.
Each state has 2 senate members.
There are two main political parties, with each election usually having a candidate from each party.Democratic Party "Democrats" and Republican Party "Republicans".
Jefferson
Republican members of each house choose their own leaders, and the Democratic members do the same. The political party that has the most members in each house is known as the majority party. The political party that has fewer members is called the minority party.
democratic I am registered as a Democrat which was the only truly active party in North Florida at the time I registered some forty years ago. I do not believe that any voter should be tied to any political party and should vote their conscience on each candidate in each race. My loyalty is to my community, state, and country, not any political party. If you are asking due to my being the elected State Attorney, you need to know that while it is a partisan election, as counsel for the State of Florida a State Attorney must be nonpolitical, just as judges. I represent the citizens of my Judicial Circuit, not a political party.
All US states have two senators. It is the representation in the House of Representatives that varies by population. Although this system has worked well over time, there are many political analysts who believe that term limits will prevent power being accumulated by individuals. Extra long terms for the US congress also allow committee chairmanships to be held only by long term congressmen.
