Growing larger means more of nature is taken and simply put, we are destroying nature as if we own it. Small indigenent cultures are being wiped out for sake of industrial growth.

I would definitely not call it a third world country, but it hasn't quite yet gotten to the level of a first world country (it's getting there, though). I think that most people would classify it as a 2nd world country.
