Here are some items that should be considered when evaluating a candidate running for public office:

* has the person kept their word on promises made in the past or when in public office, if they have served in that capacity before;

* does the candidate have ideas that make sense;

* has the candidate voted for or spoken about important public issues based on their true beliefs rather than parroting a political line;

* does the candidate share most of the same political ideas of the evaluator; and

* has the candidates record indicate that he or she is an honest person.

These are sampling of things to be considered, it does not include all of the other factors to be considered.
