Alexander Hamilton favored the elite, or wealthy class, while Thomas Jefferson was more in favor of the less fortunate, unlike himself.
No. Jefferson believed that only the educated should receive the right to vote.
Jefferson fought for French and British citizens not to be expelled from America. He was in favor of neutrality but he was not in favor of Adam's alien and sedition laws.
Thomas Jefferson.
yes
The obvious answer is that he lost the election. He had tried to carry on Washington's political ideas, but he was no Washington and had no strong following outside of Massachusetts. He was somewhat paranoid about another revolution and push through the alien and sedition acts which were unpopular. Adams had strong opposition in Thomas Jefferson who had much long-standing support in Virginia. Jefferson came in second to Adams in 1796 and by 1800 the balance had shifted over to Jefferson's favor.
Why was Jefferson opposed against polictical parties? Actually it was Washington who was opposed to political parties. Jefferson helped start a new party to oppose the Federalist. Jefferson was in essence in favor of them instead of opposed to them.
Thomas Jefferson expressed anti-federalist thoughts throughout his life. For example, he was against Alexander Hamilton and the Federalist party. Though he was not involved in anti-federalist movement. Thus, he may not favor strong national government
A Democratic-Republican, which was the political party that Jefferson co-created. It is also meant to describe someone in favor of a weak central government.
Thomas Jefferson favored the working class citizens. Thomas Jefferson was all for settlements for farmers and rural expansion in America.
Hamilton persuaded enough Federalists to cast blank votes to give Jefferson a majority of two votes.
