Theodore was an outdoorsman and lobbied congress to pass measures for the conservation of forests, water, soil and wildlife. A job creation program, it planted millions of trees and opened summer camps to introduce environmental awarenessDuring his time in office several other environmental bills he signed into law. He established the Soil Conservation Service and the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act.
