King Henry VII of England became King after his victory at the Battle of Bosworth Field on 22nd August 1485.
He later declared that his kingship dated from the day before the battle, so that those who fought against him would be guilty of treason.
His coronation took place a few weeks later on 30th October 1485.
His eldest son Henry was crowned king.
The year 1100 was significant for many countries as Henry the first was crowned king of England whilst Boudouin the first of Boulogne was crowned king of Jerusalem.
Henry V was crowned on the 9th April 1413, 20 days after becoming King of England.
Henry VIII was crowned King at Westminster Abbey, London, on the 23 June 1509 at the age of 17. The event was celebrated with much spectacle. Henry had married his first wife, Catherine of Aragon on the 11 June, and so she shared his coronation.
