Edward VI of England, who ascended to the throne upon the end of the reign of "nine-days' queen" Lady Jane Grey, ascended to the throne on January 28, 1547, and was crowned on February 20 of the same year.

Edward died at the age of 15 years. The cause of his death is uncertain, and while, at the time, there were many rumours of poisoning, there has been no evidence to support these. It is thought that his symptoms before death were typical of bronchopneumonia, leading to septicaemia and kidney failure.

NOTE:

It was Lady Jane Grey who briefly succeeded Edward VI, not the other way round.
