The current system is quite unusual. The Conservatives won just over 300 seats, more seats than any other party, but failed to gain a majority (more than 320 of the seats). As a result, they formed a coalition with the 57 Liberal Democrat MPs, with Conservative leader David Cameron becoming the Prime Minister (Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg became the Deputy Prime Minister).
Today the leading political party in Brazil is PT (in portuguese: Partido dos Trabalhadores, english: Worker's Party). That´s the political party of the President Lula. The Political position of PT is the Left.
