Why do we need rights in a democracy?

Three reasons:

1. To prevent the arbitrary exercise of power on individuals or groups.
2. To allow for expression of freedom, in the sense that rights mark individuals are equal citizens with the power and responsibility to participate in government.
3. To delineate the distribution of authority and formation of government to the people, who form the body of citizens.

According to liberal philosophers, and some economists, rights are necessary in democracy to guarantee political equality, prevent arbitrary exercise of power, support formation and extension of economic activity and, in general, allow human beings to obtain their best possible states.

because we are an established government and we dont want crime. crime is mainly caused by someone with out a problem of breaking things and we enforce it so the said person cant do any harm.
