I guess the U.S. still doesn't like communism because of its' modernism and multiple hidden belief's; like how communism is somewhat of the birth of a totalitarian gvrn. == Citizens of the U.S. are generally opposed to communism because they live in a Capitalist society. And in Capitalist societies the leading corporations (Most of which are owned by leaders of the country) control the media, and promote anti-Communism, for the benefit of the rich, at the cost of the poor. For more information on the subject go here: http://groups.myspace.com/CommunistPartyMarxismLeninism. == Another reason is the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia during the late 1910s. This led to the first "Red Scare", because the world, mainly the U.S., first saw communism and from that point associated it with revolution and violence. Also, during the 1950s, most of white Americans lived a very comfortable life that they attributed to capitalism. The financial aspect of the American Dream was achieved, and the thought of someone else controlling Americans' income was frowned upon. The Cold War didn't help much either.

The stop to communism and to prevent communism to come into the US.
The stop to communism and to prevent communism to come into the US.
In the past, the U.S. has exacerbated Communism via isolationism towards countries such as Cuba. Nonetheless, the US has helped to fight communism, mainly by living and leading by example. For example, the average household income and per capita GDP of the relatively free and democratic US has been much better and higher than that of communist countries over the years. In other words, the best way that the U.S has helped to fight Communism is by leading by example.
