A president is elected wheras a king is put in charge because either his mother or father were king or queen, of because he is invited to be king for other reasons. A country run by a king is called a monarchy. A country can have a king and not be run by a king, or queen. Then it may be a democratic country as well as a monarchy. Great Britain is a good example of this. A country run by a president usually claims to be a democracy or republic. However, a country can be run by a person called a president but actually be a dictatorship.

Aristotle believed that monarchy, aristocracy, and democracy were equally good forms of government. He also felt each form could be easily corrupted. Aristotle wanted to combine all three types of government to create a limited democracy.
Aristotle classified types of states based on the number of rulers and whether they aimed for the common good or their own interests. He identified three main forms: monarchy (rule by one, for the common good), aristocracy (rule by a few, for the common good), and polity (mixed rule, for the common good). He also noted their corrupted forms: tyranny, oligarchy, and democracy, which prioritize rulers' self-interests.
Aristotle believed that monarchy could be a just form of government if the ruler was virtuous and ruled for the common good. However, he also warned that monarchy could easily become tyrannical if the ruler was corrupt or self-serving. Aristotle believed that a well-functioning monarchy needed to be balanced by elements of aristocracy and democracy.
A Monarchy has a Monarch or a single ruler ( Or in the case of a Constitutional Monarchy, a Monarch as a sort of figurehead) while Oligarchy involves a snall and elite cadre of people who control most of the wealth of a country. (Russia is a good present example.)
