Why was bloody mary so unpopular?

She burned an estimated 300 people at the stake, including women, children, priests. Her father killed an estimated 50,000 people. Her grandparents, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Aragon and Castile established the Spanish Inquisition resulting in over 49,000 trials most resulting in death. So the fact that Queen Mary I is known as "Bloody Mary" for killing 300 people compared to the average 49,500 of her father and grandparents(that would mean that more every person Mary killed they killed 165) is almost laughable. Mainly for the reason she got her name. She burnt hundreds of protestants, married a foreigner, King Philip of Spain and at the time the English hated Spain, and was fighting a war which he didn't really have the money for. And she ended up with a cancer that made her stomach swell up and by which she though she was pregnant which lead to her being made fun of because of that.

You know the nursery rhyme:

Mary, Mary quite contrary. That was about her and that was not a nice rhyme if you think about it.

Mary I (bloody Mary) was 50/50 in popularity she was a catholic and in her 5 years burnt 200 Protestants (Church of England followers) at the stake. So it depends what religion you were. Mary was catholic because her mother (Catharine of Argon Princess of Spain) was catholic and she did not really believe that her father (Henry VIII) had set up as his church was Holy enough.
