In general terms a hound is a type of dog that tracks and chases its prey, as opposed to scavenging for already-dead animals. Wolves and Hyenas are dogs that exhibit this behaviour and are certainly found in the wild, so in that sense then yes, wild hounds do exist today and have done for millions of years.
