How do you get past the forest on Mythology island?

You cannot pass the satyr guard at the left of the Tree of Immortality, because you cannot enter the Garden of the Sphinx until you know what you are looking for. Get the Golden Apple from the tree and you will receive the quest from Zeus. The satyr at the bridge will disappear.

The other satyr, at the Grove of Temples, will remain at the Grove, but will allow you to pass once you are on the quest for the 5 sacred items.

The satyrs are at the bridge to the Garden of the Sphinx (left of the Tree of Immortality) and in the Grove of Temples (to the right of Main Street). They are there to keep you from searching the other areas of the island until you know what you are looking for. You cannot pass them until you get the Golden Apple from the Tree of Immortality, and accept Zeus's quest to recover the 5 sacred items.

The satyrs at the bridge (left) and Grove of Temples (right) prevent you from entering these areas until you know what you are looking for. Once you have the reed pipe from the Temple of Muses, and the starfish from the Museum of Olympus, you have done all you can do until you pass the Tree of Immortality, and have the quest from Zeus.

At the Tree of Immortality, climb up and the satyr will have you recover his honeypots before he will help you. When you finally reach the Golden Apple, Zeus appears.
