Neuroscientists and biological psychologists both study the relationship between the brain and behavior, but they may approach it from different angles. Society can always use another psychiatrist! As our world gets more complex and stressful there is a great need for moe psychiatrists/psychologists. Personally, I prefer psychologists because they study more of human behavior and can't prescribe drugs (but can suggest a drug to the patient's GP) and a psychiatrist studies more medications (people are becoming much for questioning about the drugs they put in their body today) than human behavior. The bottom line is, don't just go into this profession for the money, but to really help people get well. Even this board has helped many people and they'll confide to us (because they don't know us) what is bothering them and really, psychiatrists/psychologist aren't much different.

School psychologists require a lot of training and investment to be where they are. The average salary of a school psychologist, to be blunt, is an OK sum of 58,000. If you are looking for something higher than this, it is recommended you do research on districts and communities who offer higher salaries for their public or private school psychiatrists. Be warned though, the higher the salary, the more competition!
Child counseling typically involves the use of age-appropriate language, activities, and techniques to help children express their emotions. The counselor may also involve parents or caregivers in the therapy process. Adult counseling tends to focus more on verbal communication and may delve deeper into past experiences and their impact on current issues. Additionally, confidentiality and consent may differ between child and adult counseling.
Collect more of them than the next guy does. Then you'll be paid more.
Yes. In fact, the majority of antidepressant medications are now prescribed by primary care physicians (PCPs) and not psychiatrists. (There are also happen to be many more PCPs than psychiatrists.)
