How can heredility effect the personality?

Heredity can affect personality and behavioral disorders passed on through the parents. Also there is a controversial theory revolving around the idea that either a child's behavior is set on how they and in what environment they were raised or whether the personality is determined the moment someone is born. This is call the nature vs. nurture controversy. Since even the experts don't have a defined answers you may have to determine what it is that you believe.

Many personality traits and disorders are hereditary as are many diseases and afflictions. The parental lineage of an animal contributes to the personality of said animal. The parents of an animal are also factors based on what the young animal observes from those parents during the developmental period of an animal.

Heredity can increase chances one will be diagnosed with autism, mental illness, et. al. Heredity can also effect an individual's ability to do something--in studies of identical twins separated at birth, scientists have found that many twins held similar occupations and made similar life choices, even while growing up in vastly different circumstances.

This does not mean, however, that our Biology determains who we are--just lies a foundation for it.
