You can just try to get it out of your mind if it's overwelmingly sad, bu don't get drunk, itll make it worse, I myself have to leave my best friend because im moving, I jus try to remember that he/her is always gonna be my best friend, no matter what, if you want to remember him/her, try to remember something that he liked and remember him.
