The heart of the matter is that you need to be safe; not feel safe, be safe. If being known as a crossdresser is dangerous it's best to put it away until you are in a safer position. If you cannot dress then either you exercise as much self-control as possible or be out to just a few people. A transvestite is ALWAYS a transvestite, like an alcoholic is always an alcoholic, whether dry or drunk. You can underdress (works for some trqansvestites) - wear boys clothes over girls lingerie (usually just panties or hose .. Bras can show too easily.) If you absolutely have to be out, beware of really unsafe places and avoid them like the plague.
