How do you know if you are dumb?

People use the term 'dumb' loosely. There are lots of different ways to be dumb. The first thing to figure out is which category you might be dumb in.

- Lots of people, even those with high IQs, haven't a clue about how to treat other people. They say the wrong thing and don't know why they get a bad reaction. --They lack Social Skills.

- Some people take a while learning new information. They have to spend a lot of time studying, and sometimes they ask the same questions several times. But if they learn enough to enter the business world, they are usually very successful. They have learned to concentrate, to stick to the task at hand, and not be distracted. --They are not Quick Witted.

-Certain lucky people can sing like an angel, or play a musical instrument or write stories. And some can hit a Baseball a mile, or run like the wind. --The rest of us are Untalented.

-Some people are blessed with good looks, social position, wealth, talent, fame and yet they waste their advantages and come to a bad end. --They lack Common Sense.

There are other categories, too, but it doesn't matter. The cure is the same for all of them:

--Try To Enjoy Yourself. Stop comparing yourself to other people. Imagine you're surrounded by really stupid people- think how smart you would feel. Now picture a person you envy surrounded by geniuses- How dumb they would feel.

--Do the best you can with what you've got. That's what we all have to do.

--Don't be discouraged and want to give up. Now that's Really Dumb!

And Hey! Is somebody making you lose your self confidence? Learn not to listen to those people. They can be poison!

Dumb? Or Perhaps Not!First of all, everyone has different learning abilities and areas that they are very good in, as well as subjects that they have a difficult time understanding. This is true for everyone. It doesn't matter if you have mental handicaps, a "normal" intelligence level, or are a genius. For someone to be dumb, it would mean that they have no ability to learn anything and no areas in which they excel. Except for a very small percentage of the population who have extremely severe mental handicaps, that is simply not possible. If you are reading this, you are not in that small percentage of the population.

Taking it a little farther, it's important for people to know what areas they excel in and those that they might consider themselves to be dumb, or a better word is weak, in. If you attempt to excel in areas that you have a difficult time understanding, it's more likely that you will end up feeling like you are dumb, so concentrate on what you are good at and work to excel in those areas. That doesn't mean that you totally ignore your weak areas because you actually can learn in them, too.

So, it's really not a case of knowing if you are dumb. It's a case of finding the areas that you have the greater abilities in. If anyone tells you any differently or calls you dumb, they are simply mistaken.

PS no one can be dumb. Everyone knows their name so just if you dont know what pie is but you know your name then your not dumb. Plus no one can be dumb just cuz you dont know a math problem or something.
