Do what other applicants rarely do:

- Go on and on about yourself. Don't feel as if you're being conceited. This is your time to really brag on yourself. DO IT!

- Research the company. This will ALWAYS impress an interviewer.

- At the end of the interview, TELL them you want the job. Sounds simple, but how many people actually do this?

- Ask for a business card in case you have other questions (this will also give you their contact info -- see next point).

- Send a thank you letter the day of or the day after the interview. Thank them for their time and tell them how very much you are interested in the position. Thank them again, sign your name and mail the letter!

Also, take an interest in other people - such as asking them about themselves, and talk less about yourself, while doing this, look people in the eye-it shows true interest be kind and polite, and its scientifically proven that people's feel-good hormones elevate at the sound of their name, so make it a point to remember people's names and call them by their name.

Lastly, always be unique. That's the main think that will make you stand out.
