Learning how to like learning takes some work. You have to start appreciating what you're learning, and getting excited when you solve a problem and learn something new.

Here are some things that might help:

  • Start figuring out how the things you learn can apply to your life - if you make it important, it's going to be easier to learn and remember
  • Keep track of your grades - keeping records not only helps you know when you're doing well, it helps you feel good when you see your scores going up instead of down
  • Try rewarding yourself - you can get your parents in on this too! - figure out some sort of reward system, like "If I study for one hour every day, I'll treat myself to a movie this weekend." You can figure out rewards that aren't too expensive, also - keep track of whatever you're trying to improve and assign yourself points (or stars, or whatever you like) - when you get enough, do something you really enjoy as a reward.
  • Turn it around - instead of thinking about all the things you could be doing instead of being at school, think about all the things you can be doing once you get out - and not just for the day, but after you graduate and are able to get the job you really want instead of flunking out and having to work at a horrible job all your life.
  • Find a good friend or two - not to distract you and cut up in class, but to talk between classes, to study together, and to hang out after school with. School's a lot more fun when you can look forward to seeing a friend there.

Does a girl like you if she touches her hair on top of your desk all the time at school when she sits in front of you?

Not necessarily, she might just have long hair, or is antsy sitting in her seat. It's easier to tell if you talk to her. Does she turn to talk to you, does she start conversations or just answer when you start them?
