Feelings -hunger,thirst etc. are innate. Emotions are hereditary. Ask yourself this question where do feelings come from when you feel them for the very first time - anger, love, embarassment, shame etc. We are not taught them, they are already in our 'hard drive'. The only conclusion can be that they are hereditary. We are asked a question -do we have positive feelings or negative ones? If we accept this theory as correct - it will help us understand where we perhaps get feelings from that logically don't make sense. As youngsters we generally go on emotions because we have not had the experience of life to know any better. But as we grow older our logical thinking controls our actions and stops us making perhaps the wrong decisions. It would be interesting if psychotherapists would have a trial on this theory.
