What is the difference between pride and self-esteem?

self esteem is "a realistic respect for or favorable impression of oneself; self-respect" (www.dictionary.com) in other words self esteem is the opinion you have about yourself, in terms of looks, personality etc. someone with high self esteem has a lot of confidence, and is completely comfortable and happy with who they are. someone with low self esteem feels the opposite, they wish they were different, in terms of both looks and personality, often wish they were someone else, and is usually not as outgoing, as they fear they will be bullied. Someone with a high self-esteem isn't always confident, as there is a difference between a high self-esteem and high confidence. Someone who isn't as out-going as their friends or others may still have a fine self-esteem they just feel un-confortable in social situations maybe fear of saying the wrong thing. Bullies, however usually have low self-esteems themselves but are very confident. Bullies are mentally and verbally weak, they may not always be strong too, because it is the person they pick on is too scared to fight with the bullies.
