Toddlers and infants don't have their own sense of judgment . They depend on older people to learn the way of living, conduct and behaviour. However, there are other outer souces that they can learn from, that are a bad effect, like tv and behaviou of not-so-young kids. So if you not only guide your child but also discipline and set a good example, they will grow with a very good conduct and beliefs.

Positive guidance and discipline methods help children develop self-control, empathy, and problem-solving skills, leading to healthier emotional development and better social interactions. Consistent and non-punitive discipline helps children understand boundaries and consequences, fostering a sense of responsibility and respect towards others. It can also contribute to the development of a child's self-esteem and overall well-being.

While children need some type of discipline and/or direction, grounding is rarely very effective. Depending upon the child's personality, grounding will either scare them or make them rebel but never gives them the tools to make better decisions.
