Honestly it depends on how sensitive a person really is and how big your heart is. Some people cry more when there boyfriends/girlfriends leave them then they do when a relative or a friend dies. THAT proves that there is really not a number but if you cried twice a day then you would cry 712 times a year!!

How can a person relearn how to cry when that was disciplined out of them?

There are many people who find it difficult to cry even though it was not caused by discipline because some people keep their feelings inward instead of releasing the need to cry or even show anger; frustration, etc. A person who has been disciplined not to cry will eventually do so in time when there is really something to cry about. It may be as simple as meeting a new mate who is willing to listen to the person's problems and then the flood of tears come. Many men were brought up not to cry because it was seen as a sign of weakness, but now it is very acceptable for men to cry if they are grieving deeply over the loss of a loved one; loss of a job; frustration, etc.
