I think that all people need to be in tune with their bodies. You should know if you have added or lost weight based on how you feel, look, and how your clothes fit. I think it is better than using a scale. Also, every person has indicators that let them know when they are not at their best. Sore throat, scratchiness at the back of throat, headache, soreness, but I think that every person should be the best judge of whether these things are normal maladies, or something they have never experienced and should be looked into. It is important to know your own your body, but it is also important to live your life and not become fixated on every ache or pain. That can be a problem in itself. Do your best to pay attention, while living life and having fun.

However, physicians diagnose hypochondria or the more recent diagnosis of somatization, to patients who pay so much attention to their bodies that they "make" themselves sick or believe they are sick.
