External Influences
Decisions that things and people around you effect. Your family, for example. Religion, friends, etc.
Internal influences of motivation include personal goals, values, beliefs, and mindset. External influences can be factors like incentives, rewards, recognition, and feedback from others. Both internal and external factors can play a role in driving an individual's motivation level.
The Incentive Theory suggests that people are pulled toward behaviors by rewards or incentives. extrinsic(external) motivation - influence comes from outside source, ex. payed a bonus at your job for doing well intrinsic(internal) motivation - motivation comes from within, ex. learning how to knit because making a hat gives you a sense of satisfaction Also, incentives are negative - you are motivated to behave a certain way to avoid an unpleasant outcome. An influence can be both positive and negative. Positive influences can lead to motivation, inspiration, and growth, while negative influences can result in discouragement, setbacks, and conflict. It is important to be mindful of the influences around us and their impact on our thoughts and actions.

You can compare peer pressure with societal expectations in terms of external influences impacting behavior. You can contrast peer pressure with individual motivation by focusing on internal versus external factors driving decision-making.
Intrinsic motivation refers to engaging in an activity for its inherent satisfaction, enjoyment, or fulfillment, rather than for external rewards or consequences. It is driven by internal factors such as personal interest, curiosity, or a sense of accomplishment.
