If your peers are nice and easy to talk, then others will think you're outgoing and probably fun to be around. If your peers are rude and inappropriate, then people will think of you as a jerk or a bully.. If your peers don't really talk to other people, then they might see you as a shy person
Yes, peers can impact your personality: Example: If you are in school and really want to fit into a group that may be cruel to others; gossip and are generally extremely immature then you will lose part of who you are if you have to change to fit in with this group. Then there are your peers that make for good friendships and you can learn a lot from each other and build on your character. Once out of school and in college or the workplace you now have the tools to decide how to handle the negative peer pressure and the positive peers you choose to hang around with.
A wise person always takes into consideration some opinions from their peers and mixes them in with what ideas that person may have. If a person is sure of their decision and comfortable with it and can back it up then that person should go ahead with that decision. The benefits would be that you have covered all aspects as far as opinions from your peers, but you stood behind what you believe in and therefore you will be noted by your peers and Management for making good decisions based on your own skills.
