Why are people at airports and train stations always so mean?

As you can imagine, many passengers are anxious about their pending trip. They are frustrated with the long lines and the general "rush" attitude. They tend to take their frustration and anxiety out on the customer service reps and the security. Eight or more hours a day, day in and day out of listening to passenger's gripes can weigh on anyone and make them grouchy.

What are two examples of people who do not fit common stereotypes?

Senior citizens as grouchy and unemployed individuals as lazy are two examples of people who do not fit common stereotypes. As generalized simplifications based -- in its least obnoxious manifestation -- upon some facts observed regarding some people, stereotypes may be both inaccurate and insulting, as in the case of senior citizens who may be portrayed as lovable grandparents or sour neighbors.

Why are people such asses?

because that's life. Sometimes people are just having a bad day. They are grouchy because they haven't eaten properly. Some are just mean and nasty. Others like to "Punk" other people to find out what kind of reaction they will get out of you. It is there test to see what kind of a person you are and if you are worth their time in the long run. Everyone is scared of commitment at some point and this is there way of finding out what people are like. Regardless of the real reason we can't judge other or react to them. Best thing to do is just walk away and if they aren't related, never talk to them again unless they say high to you first. Don't frown at them or ignore them just smile politely and treat them like a stranger. My two cents for whatever it is worth.
