Self-esteem is crucial for students as it influences their academic performance, social relationships, and overall well-being. When students have a healthy self-esteem, they are more likely to take on challenges, persist in the face of setbacks, and believe in their abilities. This can lead to higher levels of motivation, confidence, and resilience in navigating the demands of school and life.
Freud viewed a healthy adult as someone who was able to work and love effectively, balancing intimacy and productivity. Take a good look inside yourself and be 100% honest. Are you stuck up, snobby, egotistical or immature? If the answer is no then, I don't think your boyfriend is doing a lot for your selfesteem, not to mention being rude and ultimately incorrect anyway. However if the answer is yes. He probably finds it easier to look past your flaws than most people, maybe he is trying to let you know that if you don't change your attitude it will always be hard for you to have healthy relationships with other people whether they be friendships or more.
Everything you see on TV seems fabulous and glamourous, so when you see things, you have sort of a want to be like them. The girls on TV are very beautiful to some and women try to be like them. But we can't be like them most of the time so it is a let down somewhat. Since you can't be like them, you get the idea that you might be ugly or fat or whatever it is you are comparing yourself to. It's not healthy and you should be happy for who you are and how you are. You don't need to compare yourself to others, especially if they are movie stars.
