First something very bad happens to the person thats having these experiences. Maybe an accident, a fall, or being struck upside the head... I have tons of premonitions all the time. Everyday! And I know why I have them. ... In short, no one really understands premonitions. One psychological view is that the conscious mind might overlook or ignore subtle information that nevertheless is perceived by the subconscious mind. Then the subconscious recognizes the probable consequences of that information (intuition) and nudges the conscious mind through premonitions, hunches or dreams that appear to foresee the future.
