Pyschodynamic and spychonalytic are approaches to therapy. Contemporary psychoanalytic therapy has is groundings on Freud's work and it focuses on unconscious motives and conflicts in the search for the roots of behavior. therapist serves for insight and interpretation and examination of details. Psychoanalytic therapy is much meets 3 to 5 times a week and it can last for years. Contemporary psychodynamic therapy encompasses all kids of therapeutic approaches, includes Iterpersonal psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Psychotherapy. It not so much on insight but about developing a cycle of functioning for a better handling of the day to day problems in living. It can be structured or unstructured, but it is time limited and meets 1-2 times a week.
