Racism involves the belief that one race is superior to another, leading to discrimination based on race. Stereotyping, on the other hand, is making assumptions about a group of people based on characteristics that may not be true for everyone in that group. While racism is a more extreme form of prejudice, both racism and stereotyping can harm individuals and perpetuate negative stereotypes.

A stereotype is assuming certain characteristics to someone based on their race or age or gender or religion etc. So just because they are a certain race, for example, it is wrong to assume that that individual all others of the same race have the same characteristics.

Discrimination is doing something to negatively to act against those people based on their race or age or gender or religion etc. So treating them badly because of what you assume them to be or because they do belong to a certain category, is discrimination. So not giving someone a job because they are a certain gender, even though they would be capable of doing the job and have the same qualifications and experience as someone of the opposite gender is discrimination.
