Why do kids do bad things?

Kids do bad things to get attention. Let's say that their parents are getting a divorce, then they act out because they want to show that their as strong as a bulldozer when really they don't know what to do. Kids also act out because of peer pressure. Let's say some teenager is at a party and some kids are smoking. The other kids will try to convince the teenager that drugs are ok. Then the teenager will fall into their trap of lies. Why do kids ask others to do drugs with them? Will they ask because they are too scared to do them by themselves so they have a friend do it with them, it makes them feel like it's less bad. Even though it's not.
