No. Their Narcissism would prevent them from it. It would mean they have a problem and as far as the narcissist is concerned they have no problems but the rest of the world that has the problems.

Is love a social phenomenon?

Somewhat, yes but I would describe it more as an emotion(:

Why intelligence affects emotions?

The more you know and understand the world, the less you will fear it. The more we understand the laws of science and understand how our minds workand how certain people will react or behave to a especific sitiation. The more we seem to loosed our emotions. But what in reality is happening is that we are learning to control our enviroment to our advantage. Intellegence may seem to affect our emotions to the second or third parties, but whats going on inside our heads is this: when something happens in our lives, the smart intelligent people will logically anylized the situation. Once the situation is methodically analized the person will come to the right conclusion on how to behaved without loosing control." In that example the second or third partie may look at the person with discontant because in their eyes the intelligent person looks unemotional and somewhat like a robot. So now I go back to my first statement: "The more you know the less you will fear the world."

That's not really a question that can be answered here, as it's a matter of personal opinion. Most people would probably consider it at least somewhat unsanitary.

Are narcissistic people born narcissistic?

No. It develops in children who's parents give them too much attention unnecessarily, and treat them like they are God's gift to the world. Commonly the parents are narcissistic too. It is not genetic and can be prevented if one of the child's parents are not narcissistic and give them a somewhat normal childhood. Contrary to the above answer, scientists have conducted research that shows the narcissists brains are different. Shown images that would cause shock, horror and distaste to most humans, Narcissists have no reaction to these horrific images, in fact the frontal lobe is where we process emotional content and moral conscious decisions. This part of the brain is non operational in a narcissist, and can be genetic. Which can account for the narcissist coming from a well balanced, honest, and kind upbringing. Also a genetic narcissist can be born into a deviate family which creates the possibilities for a true monster.

If a child of a narcissistic parent is narcissistic can they recover or are they simply narcissistic also?

If the (adult) child has been properly diagnosed with the disorder NPD, therapy can be somewhat helpful, but most narcissists refuse therapy and won't cooperate with it, because the disorder makes them believe nothing can ever be wrong with them. But there are actually 3 possible scenarios:1. The adult child may be fully NPD, and therefore, not at all likely to accept the years of professional help it would require.2. The adult child may just have a couple of NPD traits (fewer than the 5 required to be truly NPD) and might try to accept some help at some point.3. The adult child may not have any NPD traits at all, but simply has maladaptive behavior patterns that they picked up from their NPD parent. (Sometimes people call that "fleas", and it's common.)It's often said that if a person is troubled by the fact that they may be a narcissist, they're probably not a narcissist. That's because narcissists can't accept the possibility they're imperfect, or simply wouldn't care if it were true anyhow. For more about fleas, do some Googling of the word "fleas" with the word "narcissist". That will bring up some stuff to read.

What is an individual who is able to charm his or her victims but who has a complete void of empathy that is often manifested in sadistic sexual pleasure known as?

Could be a sociopath, but this is a somewhat inaccurate label. Could be a Narcissist, but more detail is needed.More accurately, a person of such characteristics is sometimes referred to as a Svengali. The term is coined from the name of a fictional character from the 1895 du Maurier novel Trilby, who seduced and exploited a young English girl and transformed her into a famous singer.

Is it common for the narcissist to get 'crushes' on others a lot?

IT HAS BEEN WITH MY VERBAL ABUSER YES THEY DO ANYTHING THAT MAKES THEM FEEL SOMETHING THEY ARE NOT. my experience with my ex narcissist is an overwhelming YES!! he would even get crushes on television personalities, office co-workers, anyone. It is as common as breathing for a narcissist to get "crushes" on others a lot.Since he is devoid of human emotions , he forms fixations to strangers in passing; strangers in books ;public figures, and casual acquaintances. It is in this way, that he maintains and protects his grandiose facade .Once the wife,or the girlfriend has been exposed to the true nature of the narcissist, his cover is blown, and his "adoration fixes" are somewhat diminished-thus, he lives in a fantasy world of crush after crush after crush.

Is Oedipus narcissistic in 'Oedipus Rex'?

Yes, Oedipus is narcissistic in his conceit but no, he is not narcissistic in terms of selfishness in "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Oedipus is raised as the only child and heir apparent to the older, childless royal couple of Corinth. When he learns that King Polybus and Queen Merope are not his biological father and mother, Oedipus is surprised because of the great love always shown for him by his presumed parents. It therefore is possible that Oedipus is somewhat conceited from being an only, pampered, treasured child. But at the same time, he is not selfish since he cares for his city and his family.
