this question is double sided. from the view point of the observer, it implies that one should take the time and effort to witness one's qualities, some great qualities, don't necessarily show up right away but once they do, you may be gaining a valuable relationship, that may have been missed by judging so quickly. the second side is becuz people are often misjudged right away, and you should realize that there is a small window of time before someone will make an assumption about you. you could be missing opportunities due to this. so take the time and effort to show your best.
we judge by first impressions because we are looking at what the person can offer ME...is that person's "vibe" touching something off in me that says "bad for me", or "good for me".
because kids just want to bully people so they get a kick out of it and then kids get so down about it and then the kids that they bully sometimes KILL there selfs
That's what some people say, but for me I'd have to say no. I believe that first impressions doesn't count, sure, it counts at the start -that's the reason why they call it first impressions, 'cause it's just a thought-at first meeting a saying you could relate with this: "do not judge a book by it's cover" :))---that's just what I believe at least...
* There are no statistics on first impressions being wrong, but, some people in society make that mistake many times over. Never judge a book by their cover. At least one can be friends with that person and if it blossoms into something more you are very lucky. If not, then you have gained a friend. To judge another because of the way they may look or if they don't fit into the right crowd is a sorry waste and you could miss out on someone very special.
I think that the message of Pride and Prejudice is to never judge someone by first impressions. Darcy and Elizabeth both have very poor first impressions of eachother when they first meet, and yet by the end they in deeply in love!
The judge gave a solid "10" to the act. Why judge people based on their appearance? Don't judge a book by it's cover.
It would affect your impressions of others by making one judge another.
First, it's Judge Wapner not Judge Whopper. Secondly, she was/is? married to the second judge on "The people's court." Judge Wapner was the first.
The theme of "The War of the Wall" centers around the power struggle between authority figures and rebellious youth, highlighting themes of art as a form of expression, the clash between tradition and innovation, and the importance of standing up for what you believe in.
Lawns are basically the only part, other than the front porch, that the passerbys will be able to see, and no matter what they say, people really do judge by first impressions. The lawn is a huge part of this first impression, and people don't want another person's first impression to be a bad one, so they take good care of their lawn.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Or people aren't always who they seem.
Well, to some degree, yes. When a person grows up they don't label somebody as "preppy" or "jocky" in the work place or any place. Those are just highschool labels that you grow out of. People always judge though so they do have other labels for people. Like first impressions. It's so sad how we judge people before we even meet them.
