What is the effect of mild loss of lumbar lordosis is it a danger level does it need any surgery?
Mild loss of the lumbar lordosis is probably a result of spasm
of the low back muscles (called paraspinal muscles). Lordosis
is the normal curvature of the lumbar spine (the part of your spine
in your low back. A lumbar lordosis usually curves so that
the concave side faces your back and the convex side faces your
front. With poor biomechanics, muscle spasm, or some injuries
you can lose this natural curve. A loss of lumbar lordorsis
is refered to as alordosis or hypolordosis. This by itself is
generally not considered an indication for surgery. You may
be able to restore your lordotic curve with some chiropractic
techniques like Chiropractic Biophysics or Pettibon.
