The ability to remember what you read is called reading comprehension. It involves understanding, retaining, and being able to recall information from written material.
I think it's called having an autobiographical memory/mind. I read it somewhere. I hope this helps with whatever you need it for.

It's a matter of attention and training. The more you read, the easier it is for you to relate the different bits of information to each other, understand them and remember them.
