I don't have own a physical dictionary, because I have access to dozens of excellent on-line dictionaries, applications, digital dictionaries, and browser add-ons that allow me to more quickly and thoroughly research the definition, origin, and examples of a given word and compare various dictionary entries at the same time. I do basically all of my writing on a computer, and thus have quicker access to these digital dictionaries than I would to a physical one. I find it tedious to search for a word in a dictionary of of several hundred pages of tiny text.
