Hi there,
I have a 14k Yellow Gold Singapore chain only mine is just a regular spring ring clasp. I noticed on mine that I had the same concerns so I took it into the jewellers where I bought it and had them take a look at the links that attached it to the clasp. They assured me it was fine and to enjoy wearing it and not worry about it breaking. It's a pretty sturdy chain (Singapore) and I have had mine for years and never had any issues with it. However, if you're feeling unsure, take into your local jeweller and they can fix it so that it appears to be more sturdy in those places. Other than that, unless you're going to be tugging or pulling on it, I wouldn't worry, im sure it will be fine :)
yes they are especially if they are out of their casing and brackets. but they are still pretty fragile when they are attached to the laptop and in their intended casings and brackets.
Only practical place to put them-they have to lay flat to pick up the most Sun and are fragile.

Singapore Chain: resembles a twisted herringbone wherein each link is composed of a series of flat, diamond-cut, interwoven loops. These chains are very elegant and have a lot of movement, but are the most fragile type of chain. They are easily knotted and broken. Care should be taken when wearing this type of chain.
