A:

A Catholic is someone who belongs to, or accepts the teachings of, the Roman Catholic Church. He or she will no doubt have been christened, but so are members of other Christian Churches.

Catholic AnswerA Catholic is someone who has been baptized in the Catholic Church, OR someone who has been validly baptized outside the Church in the name of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) with water running on the forehead, or immersion, and with the intention to do what the church does. In the later case, that person would have to be accepted into the Church by a formal act and be confirmed by the bishop. I guess it really depends on what you mean by "christened".
