No one is worthy of grace in the sense that they should expect that God owes them grace. God freely chose to give His grace despite the unworthiness of us as imperfect beings.

Catholics believe that a faithful Christian is one who follows Christ by putting his/her faith into action through works: attending religious ceremonies, availing themselves of sacraments through which Christ's grace is efficaciously transmitted and living an upright and virtuous life. Catholics believe that faith is not sufficient to save since human acts of the will are often not pure and dubious and can never be confirmed. Sacraments that are infused with Christ's graces and promises make up for this difficulty of the will as well as acting as channels through which Catholics claim Christ wishes us to come to Him. A Catholic, therefore, that falls into sin must be reconciled to Christ by availing him/herself of the sacraments and then confidently resume their pursuit of heaven through Christian living. Despite the very serious theological differences, both Protestants and Catholics do agree that God's grace is freely offered to all, and that all have the potential to be saved by faith in Jesus Christ.
