Are the ten commandments about living with fairness or kindness?

Yes... but even more: the Ten Commandments are God's Laws on HOW TO LOVE, CARE ABOUT, AND RESPECT ONE ANOTHER. The DOING of them is the fulfillment of LOVE.

Jesus broke the Ten down into TWO basic categories: Love and Respect for God, and Love and Respect for your neighbor [your "neighbor" is anyone who isn't you].

"...one of the Scribes [religious teachers]... came forward and asked Him, 'Which is the CHIEF of all the Commandments?' 'The chief Commandment,' replied Jesus, 'is this: ''Hear, O Israel! The LORD our God is One LORD; and THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH THY WHOLE HEART, THY WHOLE SOUL [your very life], THY WHOLE MIND, and THY WHOLE STRENGTH.'' The SECOND is this: ''THOU SHALT LOVE THY FELLOW MAN AS THOU LOVEST THYSELF.'' Other Commandment greater than these there is none.'" (Mark 12:28-31 WEY Weymouth's New Testament)

God's Commandments are what mankind needs to learn in order to live together in the IMMORTAL FAMILY OF GOD as HIS CHILDREN, FOREVER... for all ETERNITY... after the present plan of God is done and man's Salvation is complete -- and he is redeemed back from his "sins" [the transgression - breaking - of the Ten Commandments I John 3:4].

The Ten Commandments are the big lesson of this life, that this Satan-guided world is learning "the hard way." The generations of man will have the Truth of God revealed to them in the resurrection and the Judgment... when they realize, then, that all of the wars, famine, disease, misery, sorrow, pain, suffering and death throughout the generations was the result of NOT LOVING, OR CARING, OR RESPECTING GOD and ONE ANOTHER. In other words: from disobeying God's Commandments.

Most people don't stop to think how very different this world would be if NO ONE MURDERED anyone. If NO ONE STOLEanything. If NO ONE LIED to anyone. If NO ONE COVETEDthe possessions of others. If GOD WERE FIRST IN EVERYONE's basic outlook on life... God, who is the SOURCE OF LIFE.

This is why when Jesus Christ, the KING, returns to establish God's Government on earth... He's going to WRITE HIS COMMANDMENTS IN EVERYONE'S HEART AND MIND:

"...this is the Covenant that I will covenant with the House of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My Laws into their minds and will write them upon their hearts. And I will indeed be their God and they shall be My people. And there shall be no need for them to teach each one his fellow citizen and each one his brother, saying, Know the LORD. For ALL WILL KNOW ME [when all the world SEES HIM] from the least of them to the greatest; because I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR WRONGDOINGS, and THEIR SINS I WILL REMEMBER NO LONGER.'" (Heb.8:10-12 WEY)

Man has been learning how NOT TO RULE, under the lawless, selfish, uncaring, self-serving government administrations of the god he chose to worship and obey in the beginning. And Jesus Christ is coming back to show the world how it should be done under His all-powerful benevolent Government:

"...the Government will rest on His shoulders... His ever-expanding, Peaceful Government will NEVER END. He will Rule FOREVER with FAIRNESS and JUSTICE from the throne of His ancestor David. The passionate commitment of the LORD Almighty will guarantee this!" (Isa.9:6-7 NLT New Living Translation)

Everyone in Christ's Kingdom that shall rule over all the nations of the earth will KNOW THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. They will be written in their minds and on their hearts... and God's Government will CARE ABOUT ITS PEOPLE!
