Yes, the word 'chasten' is used in some versions of The Bible. In the New Testament, Paul speaks of discipline in Hebrews 12:4-11. Perhaps this is the most well known quote:

Proverbs 13:24

24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children,

but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.
