There are many things that a new believer does not believe when they are first saved and have not read and studied The Bible. It is very important that a Christian read and study. (II Timothy 2:15, "Be diligent (study) to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"). God has given the new Christian salvation and He will do whatever it takes to make that person like His Son, Jesus Christ. It may take a life time to become "mature" (if you make it that far) but it will happen. You will never be "perfect' in this life.
To whom this question applies, who does not believe that Jesus is not equal to God I suggest you do some heavy Bible study on the subject. You might be surprised. Ask God to help you in your unbelief.
If you believe Jesus is a god then you are a Christian, baptised or not. There are also religions that believe in Jesus but do not believe him to be god. There is no evidence in their literature to suggest they will or can be abandoned by Jesus. If you are not a Christian or any other religion that believes in Jesus then the question is moot, it does not matter if Jesus abandons you.
Jesus is not god, he is the son of god, if you believe. he is the prophet of the christian faith, if you do not believe he is or was the Prophet of Christianity then you are in fact not a christian.
I believe in Jesus and God.
A Wiccan can believe that a man named Jesus was born ~2000 years ago, but they do not believe in the Christian God, and thus would not believe that Jesus was the son of a god.
Christians are followers of Jesus Christ and first and foremost they believe in Jesus, and who He is, God Son.

God and Jesus Christ.
A:If you wish to be a Christian, you should believe that Jesus was the Son of God and is, at the same time, equal with God as part of the Trinity. It is not necessary, in order to be a Christian, to believe that the four New Testament gospels are literally true in every thing they say, but most Christians do.If you want to believe what we know about Jesus, you will first have to decide whether to believe that the gospel stories are true. Outside these books, which have a common literary source, we know almost nothing about Jesus.
Christian teachings about Jesus view him as the Son of God and the Savior of humanity, while Islamic teachings see Jesus as a prophet but not divine. Christians believe in the Trinity, while Muslims believe in the oneness of God.
The ultimate authority in a Christian's life is typically considered to be God, who is believed to be the Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit in the Christian faith. Jesus is seen as the Son of God and is believed to be equal to God in authority.
Millions of people believe in God and Jesus Christ. One can see this clearly through the many Christian denominations all around the world.
