Possibly, but consider this, a few days prior to His crucifixtion Jesus cursed a fig tree on his way to Jerusalem from the Mt of Olives. The fig tree immediately died. Was this the tree Jesus knew he would be crucified on? The Garden Tomb is a special place for meditation and prayer. But neither there, nor the traditional site agrees with Scripture. Jesus said, "Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms" (Luke 24:44b). 1. Sacrifices to God were made "before the Lord" on the altar east from the Temple. To fulfill the greatest sacrifice it required Jesus to also be crucified east from the Temple and before the Lord. The Garden Tomb is north and to the side and the Holy Seplechure is west or behind what was the temple location. 2. Golgotha, according to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, has several meanings; the first being "a counting place or a head (skull) count". This was also before the Lord, east of the Temple, out side the gate. This is where the Israelites filed before the Lord to be counted and to pay their temple tax. Therefore Jesus most likely was crucified on or near the Mount of Olives (where prominent Jews were and still are buried (e.g. Joseph of Arimethea). And possibly on the sycamore fig tree He cursed a couple days earlier.
