Hinduism did not directly change into Buddhism. Rather, Buddhism emerged as a separate religious tradition in ancient India, influenced by the ideas and teachings of Hinduism. Buddhism incorporated some Hindu concepts and philosophies but also introduced new ideas, such as the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, that differentiated it from Hinduism. Hinduism and Buddhism coexisted and developed alongside each other in ancient India.
Jainism spread in India whereas Buddhism spread in other countries because Jain monks aren't allowed to travel overseas.
Asoka sent missionaries to spread Buddhism and Hinduism spread because poets started writing hymns of praise to the gods Vishnu and Shiva.
Hinduism was always open to accept new ideas & cultures. Thus invaders cultures also blended with Hinduism. Such as nonviolence from Buddhism & no animal sacrifice from Jainism.

LOTS. To me they are pretty much the same, they use different word to express the same fundamental ideas, the unknowing concept. They both have a lot to do with meditating, living life peacefully, caring for nature, living life as it comes, etc
Hinduism started when Brahmanism took ideas from other cultures.
Although Buddhism took set root across Asia, it slowly declined in India. However Hinduism eventually rapt some Buddhist ideas and made for Buddha as another Hindu god. Up to today, these two religions stand as the world's most religious population.
