Both show an image of a man with long hair. If Jesus followed the style of the time, his hair was probably short. If Jesus were a Nazarite, he would have had long hair but all evidence seems to show he did not follow Nazarite traditions that dictated long hair and no drinking of wine nor touching of dead bodies. Since the authenticity of the Shroud is still in doubt, the long hair of Jesus is also in doubt. However, even if the Shroud of Turin turns out to be a fake, it would still not necessarily mean Jesus had short or long hair. As we see in the Gospels, Jesus was not always a strict observer of Jewish traditions and was constantly at odds with the scribes and pharisees over rules of conduct that they were enforcing on the people as being Divine in nature when they were of human origin. Jesus was not a conventional Jew and challenged the authorities all the time. We can not rule out long hair completely.
