That is a matter of belief. If you believe in God then, yes, unless it is specifically stated otherwise in holy text somewhere. When you think of the relationship between man and dog, one has to reflect on the fact that no other creature has such a relationship with man, insomuch as the dog is absolutely inferior to man.
