That is not known, though some of the pyramids were built around that time. What is known is that Joseph planned and oversaw the building of grain-storage facilities throughout Egypt (Genesis ch.41). Some attribute to Joseph the construction of the ancient Egyptian irrigation canal which bears his name, called the Bahr Yussef.
